On Saturday May 1st , I couldn't sleep knowing that this weekend was going to be an exciting weekend for Speedy Racer & our second FAMILY ride upcoming on Sunday May 2nd! So my AARP body had me up & ready to go way before the alarm clock had a chance to rattle me to my senses during the wee moring hours. So I do my ritual of giving the wife a sloppy wet kiss & a cheese kiss for my canine freinds & before long the Speedball Express is headed north & this weekend's atving Great Adventure! YAHOOOOOOO! I READY to RIDE!!!!!!
After a hard week at work & not feeling up to my usual self , I relish in this quiet time with just me & the tunes floating out of my truck's stereo. The miles click off fast & with what seems like such a short time , I'm stuffing my face with good warm grub at Granny's & fueling my body for the start of a LONG weekend of atving.
Many happy faces greet me in the parking lot & after a bunch of hugs & warm handshakes it's time to head out across the mountains! YEHAAAAAAAA! With alot of new folks & questionable skills , we head off towards Hazelton, Pa. & points beyond IF our newer members possess the skills to navigate the required rugged obstacles that we will encounter.
Surprisingly two locals ( Joe & Sante ) aboard dirt bikes show up unexpected & join us for today's ride.
After only a few miles & numerous obstacles I can see that everyone riding today has the skills needed to reach the train tunnel & beyond. During the course of the day we scramble up & over every mountain & obstacle that we are confronted with & NO major break downs or malfunctions! :) Here are some photos & write ups to best show you WHERE & WHAT we did during the course of the day.
