MAY 30th RIDE to Hazelton , Pa. train tunnel ! !
Hi Folks,
On Sunday May 30th I was geeted with alot of happy faces as I steered the Speedball Express to the back of Motel 6 . Steve brought his wife & daughter Tammy for today's ride & his wife would ride double with Steve & Tammy would rattle across the Pa. mountains on her  Honda 250 Recon. Chris & Christy showed up & all bright eyed & bushy tailed & VERY excited about visiting the Hazelton train tunnels. Another new member aboard his Z400 Susuki sport quad would join us for the second time &  is such a pleasant person to share trail time with!

It wasn't long before all our quads were warmed up & READY to go! As we headed off across the mountains in the cool mountain air, everyone was smiling from ear to ear & making small talk amongst themselves as  the ride progressed through mile after mile of wonderous mountain trails. The trails were now real tight as the trees started to reach full growth & the heavy foilage laden branches  hung low & tugged at our clothes as we brushed them aside at almost every turn in the trail.

The ride was at an easy pace & not very technical for the first fifteen miles. BUT when we had to cross the RxR tracks & shoot straight up a fairly steep & nasty rock infested bank , Christy & Tammy's skills would NOT let them conquer this obstacle TODAY!!!!  Chris rode the Z400 sport quad to the top for Christy & Steve rode Tammy's 250 Honda Recon to the top as the two wide eyed ladies scrambled up the steep bank to their waiting quads. This would be the only place where the ladies would need help during the course of the day. BOTH do a FINE job of keeping pace & climb most everything they face with confidence & a squeal of delight at the more challenging obstacles once conquered! LOL! " Way to go ladies! " .

Once at the train tunnel everyone was like a kid let loose in a candy store!!! LMAO! The roar of quads fills the train tunnel , mixed with the squeals of JOY & " OH That's COLD " as the water splashes up & reaches WAY UP the side of their quads as they exit the far side , where it's REAL DEEP !!!!  The photos below will show you HOW DEEP the water was this day! LOL!

After splashing about in the water & retreating back to the other side , it was time to head back across the mountains for Frackville, Pa. All in all it was a WONDERFUL day with WONDERFUL folks & I hated to see it end! But like most things go, it must END!!!! BOO HOO! The photos on the next two pages will reflect the good time we all shared on this bright & sunny Sping day . Hope to see more of you on future five hour Sunday jaunts across the Pa. mountains! Your AARP atv buddy!
