| Hi Speedball's, Speedy is excited about Saturday's upcoming ride & wakes up before the alarm clock rattles me to my senses & I chuckle to myself as I listen to Sue's LOUD ZZZZZZZZZZZZ's fill the room! LOL! DANG chain saw is cutting good once again! HA! HA! Within fifteen minutes the Speedball Express in headed north towards Pa. As I direct the Speedball Express up the Baltimore Beltway ( Rt # 495 ) , I spot what looks like other ORV fanatics motoring north just like Speedy Racer. As I draw closer & closer , I begin to make out the model of truck & what its towing . What do you know??? Its Chris from Annapolis, Md. & Larry & his gang from the Eastern Shore. It's fellow Speedball's headed to Motel 6 in Frackville, Pa. for a Saturday ride across the mountains. YAHOOOOOOOO! Before long the Speedball Express motors past Chris & the others , and I beep my horn & flash my lights to alert my fellow ORV fanatics that Speedy has joined the caravan! LOL! After a quick stop at a Super Walmart in Shrewsberry , Pa. its only another hour 1/2 before we are seated at Granny's in Frackville, Pa. stuffing our faces with some fine country vittles & shooting the SH-T with one another! LMAO! By 8:00am all faces are fed , quads gased & ready & everyone BUNDLED up to the MAX! Its COLD , DAMP & DRIZZLING ! BUT we are determined to NOT let Mother Nature spoil our day & rattle out of the Motel 6 parking lot in high spirits! :) Larry , his wife & daughter have decided to do a " FAMILY RIDE " . while the rest of us do our usual exploration & Speedballing across the mountains of Pa.. Some places are NOT a place to take women & kids , so we do the prudent thing & go into two seperate groups & head off in slightly different directions. The pace at the start is very modest due to the HEAVY DENSE FOG & COLD! NOT a good time to Speedball! LOL! Up & over mountain after mountain we go in search of MORE new trails & luck is with us & MANY new trails are discovered & explored during the next few hours. We manage to discover a whole NEW way to get to the train tunnel near Hazelton, Pa. & Sonny squeals with delight as he plunges head long into the DARKNESS. Tom on his Grizzly joins Sonny & before long both disappear into the DARKNESS & only the rumble of their quad motors can be heard & before long that even stops. With all the rain the last few days, the water in the tunnel will be VERY DEEP at the far end & I worry about my fellow atver's as they navigate the watery train tunnel?????? About five minutes pass & soon the rumble of quad motors can be heard & the cheering of Sonny echoes outward to our straining ears as he relishes in the wonder of it ALL ! :) Before too long the headlights of our two atver's can be seen beaming from within the dark confines of the train tunnel. |
